A fellow collector who is not member at the form here asked me for help. He has the shown cover in his collection, the stamp appears to be the upper right stamps of Tibet 4 Trangka, Issue 1933, Cliche 4. Hew believes the stamp is from setting 1A,

In the Mizuhara sale 2002 (Spink, London) there had been a similar cover with a imperforated stamp, Setting 1A.

Unfortunately, the stamp is not very clearly printed…, any help on plating this stamps is appreciated.

Rainer,
I have a Perforated Setting 1A copy of this stamp which I purchased from Roger North.
I can confirm it is an excellant match and colour to that on your friends cover. I believe it dates from pre-1937.
